Our client is a respected venture capital firm with an excellent reputation for making decisive investments across the global market. Their focus is on small to mid cap buyouts, growth capital, and distressed investments in a broad range of software and technology industries. They acquire, build, and manage their portfolio companies to offer a value-added service to address the needs of their customers.

With over a hundred deals made within the last 5 years, my client has a strong background in profitable investments and prides itself on the level of activity and revenue generated across the market.

Job Description

Basic Salary £40,000 - £70,000 (Depending on Experience) plus Bonus, Laptop, Mobile and 25 days holiday.

Due to consistent growth, my client is currently offering an exciting opportunity for individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit to join the company and grow alongside it within the lucrative and interesting industry of venture capital and private equity. This is an outstanding opportunity, which is the stepping stone into a solid company to join a rapidly growing team and to build a successful career.

Your objectives will be to:

  • Carry out research and due diligence on markets and companies to invest in.
  • Analyse and complete detailed business modelling for potential investments and mergers.
  • Assess risks and liabilities of deals and provide accurate reports to board level to support viability of acquisitions.
  • Make contact with companies' senior executives to build relationships to instigate initial enquiries for investment.
  • Negotiate throughout to ensure deals are agreed in a timely and effective manner, ensuring a good return on investment can be achieved.
  • Once investments/acquisitions have been made, manage portfolio businesses to ensure a good level of performance to meet objectives for profitable exit in the future.
  • Work with the senior team and support other colleagues.
  • Complete travel overseas as needed to ensure team and company objectives are met.

Qualifications

The successful person MUST have fluent written and verbal language skills in English and another language such as French, German, Swedish, Norwegian or Danish. The person should be confident at communicating at a senior level and have the ability to persuade and negotiate effectively when necessary. An analytical/problem-solving mind, with an ambitious and dynamic approach to working, is essential.

The person should be able to carry out due diligence and look objectively at opportunities to make decisive judgements to ensure the client makes the best investment in the most effective manner. Prior experience would include Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), deal-related strategy consulting, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Fund/Investment Corporate Finance/Accounting, or an associated business field.

Must be committed to developing their career within a rapidly expanding business and be willing to adapt and progress their role within the business across a steep learning curve. Finally, you must have an excellent academic background, an entrepreneurial outlook, and a passion to succeed. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as you will be in charge of your own clients and seeking potential investment opportunities. Full support and training will be given.
