Job Description

Defour Partnership is working exclusively with a Social Care Charity and due to growth we are recruiting for Support Managers in the Gateshead area.

The Charity specialises in supporting adults with a range of social care needs across supported living services. The role is pivotal in managing the community relations, delivering exceptional provision for the people they support and is the first line of operational management responsible for quality of provision for Services in the Gateshead, South Tyneside area.

Key duties include:

  • Inspire and empower your team for meaningful and impactful support and care.
  • Monitor your locations quality and implement improvements.
  • Promote safeguarding, meeting KPI’s and compliance with policies.
  • Coordinate with professionals and agencies for enhanced support.
  • Build and maintain relationship with the people supported, their families and circle of support.
  • What’s the deal?

  • Competitive annual salary: £32,.00 plus £ pa for on call.
  • This role is part of the Support Manager’s on call rota for weekend cover. These shifts are scheduled in advance and average around three shifts per month (providing an additional £ per month).
  • 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid working, however the ability to travel between locations and Head Office is essential.
  • 6 weeks annual leave.

  • Requirements

  • NVQ in Care Level 5 or equivalent. Someone working towards a level 5 qualification or committed to studying level 5 would be considered
  • Experience in staff management and mentoring.
  • Experience in managing dispersed regional locations.
  • Experience in working with learning disabilities or physical disabilities.
  • Strong communication and delegation skills.
  • Familiarity with CQC standards, Mental Capacity Act, GDPR
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Positive and motivating attitude.
  • Ability to handle conflict and challenging conversations
