HR Business Partner – Compensation, Benefits & Reward Specialist

Up to c£80,000 Pro Rata + Benefits | 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Hybrid Working - Home & London EC4N

Are you a Compensation & Benefits / Reward specialist who enjoys being part of a genuinely positive, collaborative HR team? We are recruiting for an experienced HR Business Partner with a strong specialism in Compensation, Benefits and Reward to join a leading organisation within the Reinsurance sector on an initial six-month fixed-term contract. Offering a salary of up to £80,000 pro rata + benefits, there may also be some flexibility for an exceptional individual who brings particularly strong and relevant Reward, RemCo and executive compensation expertise.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can bring strong Reward expertise to several important projects, while being equally happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved across the wider HR function. You'll be joining a busy, friendly team in a fast-paced environment, so we're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a great attitude: positive, dynamic, flexible, self-starting and straightforward in their approach.

The Role

  • Working closely with the wider HR team and senior stakeholders, you'll take ownership of several key projects, including:
  • Developing the plan and design for a return to an Individual Ratings approach.
  • Designing a Personal Goals and Incentives Scheme, ready for its planned reintroduction in April 2027.
  • Developing the plan for the 2027 Remuneration Committee (RemCo) review, including supporting the preparation of RemCo papers.
  • Supporting wider Reward activity across areas such as executive compensation, incentive schemes, bonus modelling and salary benchmarking.
  • Reviewing maternity and paternity pay arrangements and supporting associated audit activity.
  • Reviewing the current payroll provider and associated governance.
  • Supporting the introduction of a new People Services Portal.
  • Getting involved in other HR projects and initiatives as required.

About You

You'll most likely have developed your experience within Financial Services, Insurance or Reinsurance, with a strong background in Compensation, Benefits and Reward. We're particularly interested in experience across:

  • Compensation, Benefits and Reward
  • Remuneration Committees (RemCo) and RemCo paper preparation
  • Reward and incentive scheme design
  • Individual performance objectives and ratings
  • Executive compensation
  • Bonus modelling
  • Salary benchmarking
  • Payroll governance and provider reviews
  • HR/Reward audits

Alongside your technical experience, you'll be someone who enjoys working at pace and taking ownership. You'll be comfortable working independently when required, but equally enjoy collaborating, sharing ideas and being part of a close-knit team. We're looking for someone who is sharp, pragmatic and delivery-focused, with the flexibility to move between specialist Reward work and broader HR projects. Above all, you'll bring a positive outlook, energy and an open, straightforward approach to both your work and the people around you. You don't necessarily need to have done everything on the list. What matters is being clear about where your expertise lies, bringing genuine depth in Reward and Compensation, and having the ability and attitude to pick up the rest quickly.
