Responsibilities include providing a single DLA face to the industrial customer on a wide range of issues involving both DLA and non-DLA managed items. Provide information to the customer relating to specific items including acquisition support, price, product uses and technical specification data, quality, and warranty information obtained through system resources. Ensure timely processing of customer orders and customer access to product, account and order information. Manage the orders processed, submit follow-ups, modifications, cancellations, and provide status updates to customer inquiries. Receive and screen list of material requirements generated by Material Management Systems or other offline processes to ensure supportability. Advise customer(s) on how to avoid the reoccurrence of problems, based on experience and results of previous studies.

Qualifications:
To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support the following:
- Education Substitution: Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. If using education to meet basic qualifications, a transcript must be submitted as supplemental documentation.
- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Review unfilled order status and take appropriate action to elevate fulfillment actions. Apply established expedite procedures to resolve open orders. Analyze difficult issues and problems related to supply processes, work methods, supply data management or day-to-day operational procedures. Expedite processing of high-priority supply requests to meet the customer’s needs. Combination of post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade levels GS-09. The total percentages of experience and education must equal at least 100% to qualify. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Volunteer work contributes to credit for qualifying experience.
- Education: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If foreign education, credentials must be evaluated by a private organization and deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited program.
