About the Role:
As a PCB Layout Technical Assistant, you'll support the full PCB design lifecycle - from approved schematics to production-ready data packs. Working in a fast-paced, high-integrity environment, you'll collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver layouts that meet exacting electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability standards.
Key responsibilities
- Help lead the design and development efforts for new equipment, using your expertise to craft innovative solutions that meet our high standards for quality and performance.
- Contribute to the improvement of existing products by providing insightful modifications and updates, thereby ensuring our offerings remain at the forefront of technology.
- Create comprehensive technical specifications, conduct thorough analysis, and define rigorous testing requirements that underpin the design process.
- Offer hands-on support during the build process, ensuring that your designs are translated into functional equipment accurately.
- Lead the charge in system integration, meticulously testing and accepting the equipment to guarantee its reliability and efficacy.
- Foster strong collaborations with suppliers and sub-contractors, maintaining open lines of communication to ensure the seamless progression of projects.
Qualifications / Skills required
- A minimum of a HND in electrical engineering is required.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of processes and techniques pertinent to high integrity design.
- Possess a broad knowledge of various engineering disciplines, including systems and mechanical engineering.
- Exhibit strong communication skills.
- Showcase a profound understanding of best practices in design lifecycle processes, from gated design phases to design reviews, guaranteeing the highest quality outcomes.
- Display confidence in customer-facing interactions, readily delivering presentations and engaging with clients to showcase the value of our solutions and products.
Desirable:
- Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
