Our client, a respected organisation within the Defence and Security industry, is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Inspector on a contract basis. This role plays a critical part in verifying that electrical products and assemblies meet established quality, technical, dimensional, and workmanship standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and documenting any non-conformances in line with company quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical inspection activities to ensure all products meet the required quality standards before release.
- Perform both in-line and roving inspections, confirming compliance of electrical assemblies against specifications and documented requirements.
- Support investigations into quality issues by contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with production teams to help maintain high levels of workmanship and product quality.
- Participate in manufacturing and production meetings, providing quality-related input where required.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure customer expectations and contractual requirements are achieved.
- Promote efficient manufacturing practices while maintaining strict quality standards.
- Inspect components, cable assemblies, electrical assemblies, and finished products throughout the production process.
- Conduct pre-closure inspections, verifying conformance to engineering specifications and workmanship criteria.
- Accurately record non-conformance reports and update inspection data within the company's MRP system.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven background in inspection activities.
- Strong understanding of PCBs, electronics, cable assemblies, and electrical manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, wiring schedules, schematics, and circuit diagrams.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, with trainer-level qualifications considered advantageous.
