This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or junior project professional to begin their career within a Project Management Office (PMO), gaining hands-on experience in project finance and delivery.
In this role, you'll support Project and Programme Managers by providing financial insight and helping to ensure projects run smoothly and effectively. You'll develop a strong understanding of how major programmes are managed, while building the commercial and financial skills needed to support informed business decision-making.
From day one, you'll be given real responsibility, contributing to activities such as tracking project costs, reviewing expenses, supporting billing processes, and analysing project performance. You'll also assist with forecasting and profitability tracking, giving you valuable exposure to the full project lifecycle.
You'll work closely with experienced teams across Finance, Commercial, and senior leadership, learning from professionals in both project delivery and finance disciplines. This role is designed to support your development, offering structured learning, practical experience, and clear progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities:
- Supporting project budget and cost tracking, including labour and expense monitoring
- Assisting with variance analysis to understand differences between forecasts and actuals
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and financial trackers
- Contributing to financial reporting, including quarterly project reviews and Estimates at Completion (EACs)
- Supporting invoicing processes to ensure accurate client billing
- Assisting with financial modelling for new business opportunities
- Helping to prepare and submit forecasts to clients
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple workstreams and priorities
- High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in reporting
- Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and advanced Excel skills
- Current Security Clearance
Desirable Experience:
- Finance qualification desirable but not essential
