NATS, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Solutions Architect to join their team on a contract basis. As a Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role within the NATS SI Framework, responsible for end-to-end Service Design and engaging with both Programme and Service Operational Customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for end-to-end Service Design within the NATS SI Framework.
  • Manage the Physical Design Envelope and usage of Service Assets and Products.
  • Own and maintain Service Component Designs in accordance with NATS Operational, Service, and Security Regulations.
  • Develop relationships with Customers at the highest level to identify potential areas for future development.
  • Create and maintain a Service Catalogue and ensure Service Level Agreements are complete and cost-effective.
  • Govern the Solution and Service Design across Capabilities that underpin Consumer Services.
  • Escalate and manage Issues and Risks related to gaps in Service Design until resolved.
  • Provide support in balancing long-term and short-term cost benefits across capabilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership in Service Design focused on continual improvement.
  • Comfortable operating under high uncertainty, especially early in the service lifecycle.
  • Proven track record of balancing risk with reward.
  • Credible leader with excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across the full service lifecycle.
  • Successful track record in business change programmes or relationship management roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL methodologies and standards.
  • Good understanding of the NATS operating environment and strategic objectives.
  • Extensive Engineering/IT/Business management experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • High levels of energy, drive, and resilience, with flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Determination to champion and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or IT, with equivalent knowledge acquired through experience in a safety-critical environment.
  • Ability to operate at level 6 (Initiate, Influence) of the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA).
  • Evidence of ongoing Continual Professional Development beyond initial qualifications.
  • Experience in a Service Design Organisation delivering and developing safety-critical Services.
