I'm seeking an experienced Digital Engineering Team Lead to guide a team of Digital & Electronic Engineers working across a varied portfolio of radar products. This role combines hands-on digital design expertise with technical leadership, people development and strategic input into next-generation radar systems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Applying technical expertise in the digital and electronic domain to support complex radar system designs.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Digital Electronic Engineers across multiple projects.
  • Driving learning, development and skills growth within the Digital Engineering function.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in Digital/Electronic Engineering.
  • Coordinating Digital Engineering cost estimates, bid support and cost-to-complete activities.
  • Supporting the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements capture through to design assurance and final approval.

Skills & Experience

  • Essential
    • Degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.
    • Strong understanding of digital design techniques including requirements generation, implementation and verification.
    • Knowledge of complex digital PCB design and experience working with FPGAs.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with digital, analogue, RF and electrical specialists.
    • Experience delivering designs through the full lifecycle, with design assurance and sign-off responsibility.
    • Demonstrable experience in leadership: mentoring, people development, resource forecasting and succession planning.
  • Desirable
    • Experience working within a defence, radar or high-integrity / safety-critical engineering environment.
