Are you an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor?

You will bring a strong background & understanding of Environmental & Sustainability management to be able to act as the Subject matter expert (SME) ensuring a positive vision for Environment & sustainability across Dstl

Building strong Stakeholder engagement across the business you will provide assurance, advice & guidance.

  • Support the Estates Assurance Manager with assurance activities as required.

  • Lead on the development of an agreed risk based audit programme for environmental compliance and sustainability within Estates Infrastructure projects, including providing crown oversight of the implementation of this programme.

  • Lead on the development, review and assurance of Sustainability Appraisals and DREAM assessments., * You must appreciate and be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and others;

  • You will pro-actively support the development of safe working practices, champion their use with others, and promote the welfare of self and others;

  • You will share best practise and report any unsafe practises to support and enable a learning culture.

  • You are empowered to stop work where you feel it is unsafe.

  • Knowledge of risk based audit programmes for environmental compliance and sustainability.

  • Creating and managing an Aspects Register.

  • Water abstraction and effluent treatment and disposal.

  • A strong understanding of environmental and sustainability management.

  • An understanding of industry best practise in relation to environmental and sustainability management and be able to transfer these practises to Dstl., This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years., Environmental qualification at National Qualifications Framework Level 6 or equivalent., * Leadership
