Leadership & People Lead the Delivery Continuity Team (DCT) team in an open and transparent manner, effectively monitoring and managing delegations in line with departmental levels, controls and standards, with 8 direct reports. Accountable for ensuring DCT is appropriately staffed with the right skills and capabilities to deliver the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) outputs in accordance with the DIO business plan, including talent management, succession planning and development plans. Customer Engagement Be the main point of contact for the customer interface into DCT with a focus on improvement to delivery, risk management, problem solving and engagement to ensure that the customer requirements are met, providing expert advice. Develop senior customer relationships, influence business strategies and provision of information to the customer to keep them informed regarding markets, supply chain and government led activity. Delivery Accountable for effective Portfolio Management of existing and future portfolio of projects to enable DIO to deliver its core business, including risk, benefits and resource management. Responsible for delivering direction to all projects and programmes to ensure coherence and best practice in accordance with all policy, governance and DIO ways of working. Responsible for development of strategic contracting solutions across DIO portfolio in collaboration with Commercial colleagues. Working with your customers, create a deliverable, resource balanced programme, balancing customer requirements and budgets by employing effective delivery solutions, with risk adjusted delivery schedules, that supports the programme ambitions and aims whilst directly supporting best practice programme management through Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) delivery and advice. Accountable for the management of budgets with delegated authority and within approved control totals. Person specification The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their experience and skills against the following essential criteria: An experienced Facility Management professional, with at least 10 years applicable post qualification experience, operating at Board Level in a complex environment. Experience of leading complex high value programmes, characterised as having ahigh degree of uncertainty;a large number of stakeholders;large in size, technically complex,requiring novel methodologies to adapt to unique situations; and politically sensitive. Proven track record of building, motivating, and empowering dispersed teams towards achieving a common purpose. You will also need to demonstrate how you drive inclusion, improve capability and ensure high performance in a complex and dynamic environment with an engaging adaptable leadership style. A strong customer focused background with an ability to successfully collaborate at all levels through excellent communication skills. You will also need to provide demonstratable evidence of your ability to work with a broad range of senior stakeholders, especially at Board and senior executive level, with the impact to influence and negotiate effectively. Ability to think strategically and respond quickly to complex changing circumstances and high-pressure situations, maintaining integrity and a clear view of overall project priorities. Comfortable making decisions and setting direction without having the full picture and can re-focus as detail emerge. Can and does apply project delivery knowledge and techniques to set projects up for success, reduce ambiguity and ensure successful delivery. Strong commercial awareness, and able to understand the value of and exploit commercial advice. Appropriate Project Management professional qualification such as Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), APM Project Professional Qualification, APM Practitioner Qualification (PQ) or APM Registered Project Professional or equivalent, with the experience and commitment to continued professional development and accreditation.
