Job description DE&S are looking for talented and motivated apprentices to join our Project Delivery Apprenticeship Scheme and become DE&S’ future cost engineers and estimators. This two-year scheme will develop your knowledge and understanding of how our projects are delivered. You’ll gain an insight into project management and project control tools and techniques. This will include scheduling, risk management and cost control. You’ll work towards the Association of Project Managers (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ) to attain a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship, on scheme completion. You’ll also undertake project placements, focusing on cost engineering and cost estimating, which’ll give you the opportunity to build your skills and experience in those areas. In your placements, you’ll play an active role by helping the team to deliver world-class equipment and support services to the Armed Forces. Once you’ve successfully completed the apprenticeship, you may be offered a permanent role in cost estimating and engineering at DE&S. Please note: Because of the classification of some of the information related to certain projects, some work-based placements may be open to Sole UK Nationals?only. Your place of work will be DE&S, Piccadilly Gate, Manchester, M1 2WD. You’ll be required to attend site regularly, at the request of your Scheme Manager or Placement Supervisor.
