Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead construction teams across diverse company projects, driving high-quality delivery and operational excellence. You will work alongside Group Directors to support business needs, while motivating and supporting teams under CM control to perform at their best and contribute to the achievement of wider group objectives.
Role:
- Uphold the corporate image of the company at all times.
- Continually develop relationships with clients/architects to project a professional image and foster an honest and trusting working relationship with them all.
- Create a climate to facilitate the opportunity for repeat business.
- Promote and instil best Health and Safety practice to the site teams under the control of the CD.
- Improve the company's image and overall performance by achieving the required standard, meeting or bettering the works programme and carry out the works within the contract budget.
- Provide contract progress reports to the Construction Director, Managing Director and commercial department on a weekly basis.
- Monitor and control project cost in tandem with the commercial and project team and actively assist the commercial team in CVR and end life forecasts.
- Effectively manage the construction team for projects under the control of the CM.
- Create the Construction programme in tandem with the construction team.
- Ensure contractual actions and notices are taken at the appropriate time to protect the company position.
- Actively enforce the use of all required documentation by the project teams under the control of the CM.
- Manage the defects period and achieve MGDC within 3 months from end of defects liability period.
- Assist in pre-tender appraisals and submissions where required.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Mandatory qualifications: SMSTS, First Aid at Work and Managerial CSCS card.
- Preferrable qualifications: Scaffold Awareness and Temporary Works Supervisor.
- Previous housebuilding site management experience is essential.
- Up-to-date relevant knowledge of health and safety legislation and NHBC requirements.
- Commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Current and valid UK driving licence.
