Deeside Cereals, part of the Weetabix Food Company, is recruiting for a weekend shift to boost its existing capacity.
Base Pay Range: Rate of Pay – £17.17 per hour (£21,438.14 per annum)
Shift Schedule:
- Week 1 (Nights) – Friday 6:00 pm to Saturday 6:00 am, Saturday 6:00 pm to Sunday 6:00 am
- Week 2 (Days) – Saturday 6:00 am to Saturday 6:00 pm, Sunday 6:00 am to Sunday 6:00 pm
24 hours per week on a rotating basis. Overtime may be available on weekdays (not guaranteed).
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the supply of all materials from the warehouse to manufacturing areas to meet the daily production plan, using an RF scanner.
- Supply pallets to production.
- Load finished goods onto the shrink wrapper.
- Unload incoming vehicles and rack materials following GRN procedures.
- Load outgoing vehicles with finished goods ready for dispatch.
- Generate trailer transfer notes and pre-advisories for the consolidator warehouse.
- Maintain and replace wrap on the auto pallet wrap machine; report faults to engineering.
- Conduct visual checks of racking; report defects.
- Act as out-of-hours banksman for silo.
- Remove waste from the warehouse, including production waste; load dolly waste into the compactor.
- Cycle count.
- Ensure adequate checks are carried out before and after using equipment.
- Adhere to the cleaning schedule.
- Ensure safe working methods are adhered to.
- Complete daily Health & Safety and GMP checks within the warehouse.
- Relocate pallets within the warehouse to maximise storage; record all movements with an RF scanner.
- Perform tasks considered relevant by the Line Manager.
- Responsible for Food Safety, Quality and Legality.
Bay Responsibilities:
- Load and record finished goods from the BAY to relevant trailers using RF scanners.
- Monitor conveyor loading and liaise with drivers to prioritise pallets for maximum trailer load efficiency.
- Monitor label printing from production; escalate when labels are not printed.
- Create trailer transfer notes and submit ASNs to consolidators.
- Liaise with the shunter driver and 3PL consolidator regarding collection times and chase late loads or cancellations.
- Review stock in the IFS BAY location for ‘phantom’ pallets.
- Send shift report to the consolidator warehouse and Supply Chain team.
- Monitor the DCE waste unit, emptying as required.
- Load vehicles for direct delivery to customers when required.
- Communicate with Supply Chain regarding finished products needing labelling on the BAY and removal from the BAY to store in the Deeside warehouse.
Requirements:
- Good general education level required.
- Previous warehouse experience essential.
- Counterbalance, Reach and Electric Handtruck (FLT) licences essential.
- Effective communication at all levels.
- Team player.
- Decision-making ability; able to operate independently.
- Basic management and use of equipment.
