Temporary position for 3-6 months, could be longer.

Number of vacancies: 1

Working hours: 42 per week on a 4-on-4-off basis.

Shift pattern:

  • Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am
  • Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm

The Role:

To ensure all products are produced to customer specification and legal requirements, by auditing process and quality checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All audits are carried out and closed to schedules.
  • Customer audits completed on time and to customer satisfaction.
  • Due diligence is carried out and correct.
  • Quality checks completed.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the production areas adhere to HACCP, EFSIS, IFS.
  • Conduct internal audits (GMP, etc.) to schedule.
  • Carry out start-up, shift-start and other checks throughout the shift on work in process and packing, ensuring that Operators are using correct procedures according to SOP/CIC.
  • Continuously monitor the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with all parts of the QMS and relevant legal requirements.
  • Ensure products are safe legal food and ensure food defence.
  • Manage out-of-specification ingredients and/or packaging materials within the shift.
  • Audit all quality-related paperwork to ensure due duty.
  • Carry out food reviews.
  • Bring to the attention of senior management any unsatisfactory product.
  • Ensure all samples required for microbiological, analytical and nutritional are sent for analysis as per agreed schedule.
  • All out-of-specification results to be reported to Technical Manager.
  • Inspect plant after cleaning to ensure it is fit for use, carry out hygiene and allergen swab as per schedule.
  • Calibrate all laboratory and process weighing equipment and other relevant instruments according to the schedule.
  • Action out-of-specification results to be reported to Technical Manager.
  • Cover for other QA Auditors and raw materials checks in times of absence.
  • Set checkweigher and metal check detection at start of production, entering new products as required.
  • Attend third-party warehouses as required regarding quality issues.
  • Generate Markem codes for cases and download onto Markem system.
  • In the event of product contamination, inform relevant personnel whilst carrying out a full investigation including completion of all sampling/documentation.
  • Attend daily production cell meetings.
  • On a monthly basis carry out shelf life testing on retained samples.
  • Carry out investigations on customer complaints.
  • Raise concession notes as and when needed.
  • Responsible for carrying out investigations in the event of product contamination.
  • The job holder is required to do all tasks considered as relevant by their Line Manager.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, Quality and Legality.

Skills Required:

  • A good standard of education in English and Maths with PC experience.
  • Experience in food industry, previous position in a quality department of a food environment preferred.
  • Food hygiene and GMP auditing techniques an advantage.
  • The job holder is expected to use initiative and judgement in identifying and correcting all quality issues.
  • Independent action in stopping production until any fault is rectified.
