Job Description \n \n Network Engineer \n Cisco/Arista/Palo Alto/SD-WAN \n Sunbury-on-Thames (Hybrid - 3 days on-site p/w, Tuesday and Wednesday fixed) \n £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits \n Are you a network engineer who wants genuine ownership rather than a ticket queue? This Network Engineer role comes with a live project attached: a migration of the edge switching estate from Cisco to Arista across multiple buildings, with a Firewall replacement following close behind. \n A globally recognised technology manufacturer in Sunbury-on-Thames is looking for a Network Engineer to join its MIS function. You'll own the availability, performance and security of the network across the UK and Europe, working to a standard set by the global head office within an established ISO 27001 framework. \n This is an in-house enterprise network, not a carrier or managed service environment. You'll have full admin access and make the changes yourself, rather than passing work to another team or monitoring read-only. \n What You'll Be Doing \n \n Delivering the Cisco to Arista edge switching migration and the Firewall replacement that follows \n Administering LAN, WAN and site-to-site connectivity across the UK and European sites \n Configuring and supporting Switches, Routers, Firewalls, SD-WAN and wireless hands-on \n Maintaining security controls in line with ISO 27001, including Firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and access policies \n Troubleshooting faults live and resolving issues before they reach users \n Owning firmware, patching, documentation and disaster recovery connectivity, and improving the existing network \n \n What You'll Bring \n \n Solid, recent, hands-on Cisco routing and switching experience in a business-critical, in-house environment \n Hands-on Firewall experience, ideally Palo Alto, alongside VPNs and VLANs \n Working knowledge of wireless and network security best practice, ideally in an ISO 27001 environment \n Strong live troubleshooting skills and the judgement to prioritise independently \n Commercial Arista exposure, a significant advantage though you don't need to be a specialist \n \n Desirable: SD-WAN, multi-site or international experience, Aruba, VMware vSphere, Zscaler, cloud networking, Arista or Cisco certification \n What's On Offer \n \n Discretionary bonus \n 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 30 over time \n 7.5% employer pension contribution, with options up to 10% \n Permanent health cover, private dental and worldwide travel insurance \n £250 a year towards gym membership \n \n Please note: this is a hands-on engineering role where experience counts for more than certifications.
