Location: Remote with occasional travel to office based in Letchworth

Day Rate: 450 - 550 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract Duration: Initial 6 months

Deerfoot Recruitment is assisting one of our established retail clients in sourcing an experienced Data Modeler to support a large-scale IT transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the rebuild of a major organisation's data landscape using cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies.

The successful contractor will join a collaborative data team, playing a critical role in designing and developing robust data models to support analytics, reporting, and operational systems. Working across business units, this role will focus on data strategy, modelling standards, and the migration of data from legacy systems into a modern Azure-based environment.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling
  • Excellent knowledge of metadata management and data governance principles
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and modern data platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with tools such as Visio and data modelling software
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Power BI, and certification in data management (e.g., CDMP or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer).
