Technical Support Specialist Heathrow (On-site - 5 days p/w) 12 Month Contract 170 p/d Inside IR35

Are you the person who gets a failed system back online before the queues start to build? This Technical Support Specialist contract puts you at the heart of live airport operations at Heathrow, keeping mission-critical passenger and operational technology available and performing.

You'll handle everything from Level 1 and Level 2 incidents to preventative maintenance, new deployments, and upgrades, working airside and serving as the go-to technical contact for operational teams.

It's a hands-on, varied role working shifts, either days (09:00 - 17:30) or nights (23:00 - 07:30), with frequent travel between airport locations and a part in a 24x7 on-call support model, so no two weeks look the same.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment replacement, health checks and system validation
  • Installing, configuring and commissioning hardware and software for new deployments, upgrades and technology refresh programmes, through to acceptance testing and go-live
  • Acting as a primary technical contact for operational stakeholders and airport authorities, giving regular service updates and joining operational reviews
  • Working within airport security, permit-to-work and Health & Safety procedures, and keeping incident, maintenance and asset records accurate
  • Taking part in the on-call rota, emergency restoration during critical incidents and planned overnight maintenance windows

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in technical field support, IT infrastructure or airport operations, supporting business-critical operational systems
  • Proven troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and network fundamentals
  • Strong customer service skills and the confidence to work independently across multiple locations
  • A full UK driving licence, willingness to travel extensively and to work airside, subject to airport security clearance

Desirable: airport industry experience, border control, passenger processing, self-service or biometric technologies, supporting kiosks, gates, workstations and network-connected devices, ITIL Foundation, Health & Safety awareness training, experience in regulated operational environments
