28.35 hours per week, 8.30am to 3.10pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks). Grade D, Step 1 - Actual Annual Salary of £17,846.42 (which is the equivalent of a full-time salary of £27,779).
Deer Park School is a new, state of the art, seven-form secondary school which opened in September 2021. At present there are just under 1,000 students on roll across Yr7, 8, 9, 10 & 11. We are part of the RAISE Education Trust, which comprises of Deer Park Secondary School, Wildern Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School.
The Cover Supervisor role offers the successful candidates the perfect opportunity to become involved in the learning of young people. This can be a career in itself, or serve as a springboard to a teaching career or other work with young people in the future. We support our cover supervisors’ specialisms about which they are passionate, whilst also providing breadth of experience.
Duties include:
- Supporting a mixture of classes during the absence of the regular class teacher
- Setting the work provided
- Monitoring/managing behaviour and keeping students on task
- Supporting teachers in the classroom
You will have high standards of expectations, deliver lively and engaging lessons from existing plans, and support students by responding to questions. Although you will not be teaching, ensuring the students stay on task is most important, so good classroom management is essential.
In quieter times, you may also be expected to provide classroom and technician support, exam invigilation and general admin support including working with the Senior Administrative Officer in organising pre planned cover timetables.
