Requirements

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering large-scale banking technology systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical disputes
  • High proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, and SQL
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark) and traditional databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Understanding of Anti-Financial Crime challenges and the broader Payments industry
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels

What the job involves

  • You will be joining the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Technology department as part of a multi-skilled agile team dedicated to rolling out sophisticated automation that drives Deutsche Bank’s critical control infrastructure.
  • The team develops high quality tools whilst working hard to foster a culture of collaboration and engineering excellence.
  • You will make a crucial contribution to the efforts to accelerate the delivery of changes required by the bank’s committed key deliverables in this area, which are frequently driven by tight regulatory requirements.
  • As well as taking the lead in software development tasks, you will be domain expert in the testing of large complex datasets and have a clear understanding of the business processes and competing priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership through hands-on and mentoring activity: contribute high-quality code, perform code reviews, and guide engineering best practices.
  • Shape the technology roadmap by evaluating emerging tools and established techniques, balancing cost, complexity, and performance, whilst ensuring the data infrastructure setup to support critical regulatory deliveries.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Business, Model Development, and Technology management to refine requirements and deliver robust solutions.
  • Support the design and implementation of a new Data Product covering global business line coverage, supporting multiple end points and also addressing our regulatory and control requirements.
  • Apply advanced analytical and querying techniques to diagnose issues, optimise performance, and enforce data quality controls.
