Requirements

  • More than 5 years of experience as a product manager with significant experience in technical or platform-focused roles.
  • Knowledge of building large scale client-facing platforms and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work deeply with engineering teams on architecture, APIs, and system design decisions.
  • Experience defining and prioritising non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, resilience).
  • Solid understanding of financial services workflows (Trading, Banking, Investment or Wealth Management) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make data-informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence and align senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.

What the job involves

  • As a Product Manager within the Platform Cluster for our flagship product, LSEG Workspace, you will lead the evolution of our desktop platform, interoperability, and core technical capabilities.
  • Reporting to the Cluster Product Lead (Platform), you will provide product leadership for one or more squads made up of engineers and UX designers, working closely with architecture and engineering leadership.
  • You will own and drive product strategy for critical platform capabilities that enable scalable, stable, and secure growth of the LSEG Workspace ecosystem.
  • This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and architecture, requiring strong technical depth alongside a clear understanding of customer workflows and business outcomes.
  • You will be given a high level of autonomy and ownership. Within a flat organisational structure, you will work directly with senior technology and product leaders and have the opportunity to make a visible, long-term impact on the platform that underpins our desktop experiences.
  • Product Manager for one or more squads within our Workspace Platform Cluster, focusing on building & deploying desktop solutions that enhance customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with Workspace platform and community teams to prioritise and develop product features to drive engagement.
  • Partner closely with engineering leads and architects to define and evolve platform architecture, APIs, and shared services that support multiple products and squads.
  • Drive requirements and prioritisation for non-functional capabilities, including scalability, performance, reliability, resilience, and security.
  • Lead product discovery for platform initiatives, balancing customer needs, technical constraints, and long-term architectural direction.
  • Translate platform strategy into clear, actionable epics, features, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can deliver against.
  • Guide squads through the full product lifecycle, from early technical exploration and prototyping to production deployment and adoption.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to agile ceremonies, ensuring high-quality backlog refinement and predictable delivery.
  • Align squad execution with agreed OKRs, platform principles, and wider Workspace strategy.
  • Define and monitor technical and product KPIs, including platform adoption, performance, stability, and usage metrics.
  • Act as a key point of contact between platform teams and consuming product teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
