Requirements:

  • 10+ years of strong experience across financial operations, accounting, audit, or financial control
  • Implemented and optimised financial systems and controls to bring structure and scalability to a startup
  • Accounting, reporting, financial control, compliance, AR/AP management, audit, and ERP systems
  • Owned monthly close with external auditors
  • Model mastery: three-statement, hiring plan, scenario analysis, and ad-hoc models
  • Has seen at least 1 ERP implementation/migration
  • Leadership experience, having led a team of financial controllers, accountants, etc at venture companies
  • Experience of accounting and financial control experience at a startup/scaleup, ideally having set up the entire accounting system / ERP and books from scratch
  • Strong SaaS metrics understanding and FP&A experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Builder β€” creates accounting system with operational focus
  • Low ego β€” able to lead but also willing to help with the grunt work
  • Precise β€” strong eye for detail and numerical accuracy
  • (Desirable) Familiarity with Belgian and/or UK local reporting/accountancy
  • (Desirable) Part of Series B or C fundraising as financial controller/accountant/financial ops manager
  • (Desirable) Experience with multi-entity consolidation
  • (Desirable) Managed financial operations for a startup before (accounting, ERP systems, AR/AP management, compliance)
  • (Desirable) Experience with 409A, R&D subsidies, tax administration
