What the job involves

The Senior Internal Communications Manager will partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver a communications strategy that supports business growth, transformation and M&A activity. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role will provide strategic counsel to senior stakeholders, developing clear and credible communication approaches that strengthen leadership capability, drive engagement and support organisational change.

As Internal Communications partner across multiple central functions, this role will work closely with People, Talent & Development, Reward and other Centres of Excellence to deliver aligned communications that support integration, restructuring and medium-to long-term workforce priorities. The role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery - operating confidently at leadership level while remaining closely connected to employees to ensure communications are timely, authentic and land with impact.

Lead the drafting and delivery of complex internal communications for M&A activity, including acquisitions, divestments, integrations, and joint ventures. Develop clear, compelling strategic narratives that explain complex business decisions, financial outcomes, and organisational implications in a way that resonates with employees. Draft and manage high-stakes announcements involving restructuring, leadership changes, portfolio shifts, and strategic resets, balancing transparency, legal considerations, and employee impact.

Drive alignment and consistency across the Group. Create executive-level materials including CEO scripts, ELT briefings, FAQs, key messages, and leadership toolkits, ensuring leaders are equipped to communicate with confidence and consistency. Partner closely with External Communications, Legal and People teams to manage risk, timing, and message alignment across internal and external audiences. Advise leaders on message framing, tone, sequencing, and audience impact in fast-moving and sensitive situations.

Act as a trusted communications advisor on transformation, organisational change, leadership messaging, and sensitive people and business matters. Develop and execute integrated communications and engagement plans that support business performance, cultural alignment, and employee experience. Support the Communications Director in CEO, ELT, and leadership communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strategic impact.

Partner with External Communications to leverage internal stories externally where appropriate and ensure alignment between internal and external messaging. Ensure communication is two-way, transparent, and inclusive, fostering dialogue, trust, and engagement. Set the strategic direction for internal communications channels, aligning channel mix, cadence and content to business priorities, audience needs and change initiatives.

Establish a robust approach to communications measurement, translating insight and feedback into evidence-based decisions that shape strategy, content and channel use. Maintain consistent FAQ across the Group on key priorities, programs and transformation. Create compelling Group communications that strengthen culture, reinforce shared identity and bring the organization’s vision to life. Build relationships with global communications and engagement leads across the Group.
