What the job involves
- Spend is looking for an Engineering Manager to help them ship their first credit cards.
- You’ll be joining a new team that is expanding the way Personal and Business customers can spend from their Wise Account.
- For the first time ever, we will be allowing businesses and personal customers to spend on credit offered by Wise.
- You’ll manage the core credit team within the squad who will be responsible for driving this initiative.
- You will be a key driver of the team's technical roadmap and the broader product roadmap.
- You’ll partner with our dedicated product manager, and the other teams across Spend and Account to help enable the issuing of credit cards internationally.
- You will be responsible for building the systems which allow credit decisioning, tracking borrowed credit, accruing interest, repayment flows and much more.
- You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that other teams will also support your vision and gaining alignment.
- You will hire, lead, coach and mentor a talented group of engineers who can bring our vision to market.
- You will help them grow, remove blockers and allow them to execute at a velocity which balances time to market with the quality our customers have come to expect.
- You will have clear planning, release milestones and realistic commitments set.
- You’re a strong owner of your product space, and you encourage collaboration and continuous improvement within your team and neighbouring teams around you.
- Owning a technical roadmap to ensure that our product is maintained to high standards.
- Lead the development of new solutions. Drive initiatives from the ground up to develop entirely new products for our customers.
