Requirements

  • 4–7 years in a Presales Solution Engineering role at a B2B SaaS company, ideally one with API-first products.
  • You’ve taken complex enterprise deals from first call to signature and know what it takes to keep momentum across a 6–24 month sales cycle.
  • Technical depth in at least three of: REST APIs and webhooks, OCPP or similar device protocols, OCPI / roaming, payments and PSP integration, data warehouse and analytics, OAuth / SSO and identity, ERP integration patterns.
  • Domain knowledge in EV charging, energy, fleet, or mobility is a strong plus — but we’ll teach a strong SE the domain.
  • Strong demo skills — you can take a feature and tell a story that lands with a CTO in five minutes.
  • Comfortable in front of senior customer audiences and equally comfortable in an engineering working session.
  • Fluent English and at least one additional European language.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Notion AI) to accelerate your work and improve how you run deals, demos, and documentation.
  • If the mission excites you but your experience isn’t a perfect 1:1 match, apply anyway — we care about potential, not perfection.

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Presales Solution Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and build with us — through the grind and the wins.
  • You’ll partner one‑to‑one with an Account Executive on a portfolio of strategic accounts — utilities, automotive groups, fleet operators, and infrastructure providers running 5,000 to 100,000+ charge points. You’ll lead the technical narrative from first call to contract signature.
  • A typical week looks like a discovery workshop with a customer’s IT team, a deep‑dive demo for a Head of Charging, an RFP response, a security questionnaire, a pricing model call with the AE, and a feedback session with Product on what the market is asking for. You’ll travel to customer sites two to four times a month.

This Is What You Will Achieve In 6 Months

  • Shadow and lead deals from day one — join 3–5 active enterprise deals across the team and lead the technical thread on at least one yourself within your first 6 months.
  • Build the demo library — create a reusable demo set for the most common enterprise scenarios: multi‑brand consolidation, fleet and split‑billing, white‑label app, hybrid roaming, regulatory compliance.
  • Strengthen the team’s knowledge base — contribute to the RFP response library and security questionnaire knowledge base that the whole SE team relies on.
  • Run technical discovery. Understand the customer’s existing CPMS, integration landscape (ERP, CRM, billing, payment, energy), hardware estate, regulatory environment, and brand structure.
  • Design reference architectures. Show the customer how Monta fits into their world — multi‑brand isolation, ERP integration, billing flows, roaming flows, energy stack, white‑label app and driver experience.
  • Lead the demo. Match the customer’s actual workflow, not the generic deck. The best SE demos teach the customer something about their own business.
  • Own RFP, RFI, and security questionnaire responses end‑to‑end. You bring the technical clarity; internal SMEs bring the depth.
  • Run pilots and POCs — where they accelerate the deal, and only where they accelerate the deal.
  • Partner with the AE on commercial structure. Pricing models, deal scope, the technical close. You understand the business case as well as you understand the tech.
  • Hand cleanly to a Solution Architect at signature. Full context — architecture decisions, customer commitments, open risks.
  • Feed structured product requirements back to Product and Engineering.
