Meet the team behind this journey
In the AI Systems Track at DeepL we empower and accelerate the lifecycle from innovative research to global, dependable, and efficient production deployment. We sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and research — turning raw model potential (e.g. LLMs) into refined, production-ready applications while optimising their distribution across our computational infrastructure (GPUs on cloud and datacentres).
Your Responsibilities
- Define and guide the mission, strategy, and technical roadmap for a team that enables the efficient deployment and optimisation of our LLMs, which are used by multiple teams as part of DeepL’s suite of products.
- Facilitate collaborative processes to translate business and user needs into development requirements that create meaningful impact.
- Oversee the product lifecycle from discovery to launch and driving measurable business impact.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to track progress and demonstrate impact.
- Help the team prioritise efforts to maximise value and effectiveness.
- Communicate strategy, ideas, and complex concepts clearly, aimed at the right audience, with the help of data and insights.
- Identify opportunities for new features and products that leverage the global scale of our user base and data.
Qualities We Look For
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager on a technology product, working closely with engineering counterparts.
- Technical background: e.g. a computer science degree and/or previous software development experience and/or previous experience working specifically in technical domains.
- Experience in driving the product lifecycle and leading an impactful product team – research, hypothesis formation, prioritisation, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working on a product at scale, with an international footprint.
- Analytical, customer focused, dive into the detail, and enjoys working with highly technical teams on complex problems.
- Able to analyze and break down large problems into a structured approach, with measurable steps to achieve the goals.
- Consistency in using qualitative and quantitative insights to define strategy, goals and roadmap. You base your decisions on facts and seek to validate any hypothesis both before and after implementation.
- Skilled in identifying gaps in metrics or KPIs then defining new measures to demonstrate impact.
- Strong communication skills, using data and insights to tailor messages to different audiences.
