Meet the team behind this journeyThe Identity and Access Management team owns DeepL's full identity stack: organisation, group, account, consent and session management, SSO federation, SCIM provisioning, and the OIDC provider, for both internal and external users. It is the foundation every DeepL product relies on to authenticate and authorise users securely and at scale. When identity is unavailable, no one can log in, so reliability and performance sit at the heart of everything the team does. This is a high ownership team, and its focus now is taking the platform from startup grade to robust, scalable infrastructure at the core of a global Language AI platform.Your responsibilitiesRaise the engineering bar across the team through design review, mentoring, and pragmatic technical standards, enabling everyone around you to deliver at a higher level.Own the delivery of identity services end to end, from design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing operation.Step into urgent customer and operational incidents, helping the team diagnose and resolve them quickly and then prevent them from happening again.Set technical direction and make principled architectural trade-offs on reliability, availability, consistency, and security across the identity domain.Help move the identity platform from startup grade to solid, scalable infrastructure over time.Shape the longer term identity roadmap, including the evolution of SSO, SCIM, and OIDC on modern cloud infrastructure.Qualities we look forProduction grade backend engineering at Staff level, with a track record of owning systems across team boundaries.A strong record of driving initiatives from design through implementation, deployment, and operation.Experience building and operating reliable, high throughput services, balancing delivery with keeping systems running.Solid software engineering and architecture principles that you can spread across a team through mentoring. What we offerDiverse and internationally distributed team: joining our team means becoming part of a large, global community with people of more than 90 nationalities.
