Meet DeepL. DeepL is a global AI product and research company focused on building secure, intelligent solutions to complex business problems. Over 200,000 business customers and millions of individuals across 228 global markets today trust DeepL's Language AI platform for human-like translation, improved writing and real-time voice translation. Founded in 2017 by CEO Jaroslaw "Jarek" Kutylowski, DeepL now has around 1,000 passionate employees and is supported by world-renowned investors including Benchmark, IVP, and Index Ventures. Our goal is to become the global leader in trusted, intelligent AI technology, building products that drive better communication, foster connections, and create a meaningful impact. To achieve this, we need talented people like you to join our journey.
What sets us apart is our blend of cutting-edge AI technology, meaningful work, and a culture where people truly thrive. We're a team of innovators, researchers, and creators driven by a shared purpose to unlock human potential by making work simpler, smarter, and more connected. When we share what it's like to work at DeepL, the reactions are overwhelmingly positive. This might be because of our technology that helps millions of people and businesses communicate and work better every day, or because of the trust, curiosity, and care that shape our culture. What we know for sure is this: being part of DeepL means joining a team dedicated to innovation, growth, and well-being.
At DeepL, we're on an exciting adventure to expand our operations to match our ambitious growth plans. At the heart of this journey is our Sales team, a cornerstone of DeepL's market expansion and customer engagement strategy. Our mission is clear: to build and develop high-performing sales teams that embody DeepL's innovative spirit and drive for excellence. As a member of our Sales team, you will be at the forefront of driving our growth and expanding our global reach. Working in close partnership with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams, you will collaborate to deliver tailored solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Your responsibilities:
- Own territory design globally - coverage models, segmentation, and account assignments - across the annual planning cycle, working directly with sales managers and our regional Sales Strategy Business Partners.
- Model and monitor. Build territory and ownership scenarios across Salesforce, Google Sheets, and Databricks, then track how territories perform once they're live: which patches are working, what's selling where, and where coverage needs rebalancing.
- Build target-account strategies grounded in our product, partnering with Product, Data Analytics & Insights, and Marketing Operations to sharpen our ICP by region and focus coverage where it's most likely to convert.
- Own our sales policies and Rules of Engagement - where reps can and can't sell, how ownership decisions get made, and what happens when the rules are breached. These exist today; rebuilding them properly is yours.
- Automate the manual work. This role is roughly 40% operational today and we want it closer to fully strategic. You'll have our backing to use AI tools like Claude, and the partnership of our Systems and Operations teams, to get it there.
- Keep the foundations clean. Be the strategy voice in Salesforce roadmap reviews so changes don't quietly break territories or reporting, and handle day-to-day account reallocation as people join, move, and leave.
Qualities we look for:
- Around 3–5 years in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Go-to-Market Strategy, or sales planning. We care more about what you've owned than the number on your CV.
- Highly analytical. You're comfortable getting into the data across Sheets, Salesforce, and Databricks to test an idea, and you land on a clear, defensible recommendation rather than a deck of options.
- Confident reasoning about Salesforce - how accounts, territories, ownership, and data fit together. This is not an admin or technical role, and we have strong Systems and Operations teams behind you, but you need to hold your own in those conversations. Hands-on backend experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Able to influence without authority. A lot of the change you'll drive sits in other teams, so you'll get there through insight, evidence, and constructive challenge.
- A strong bias to automate. You already use AI tools such as Claude to remove repetitive work, or you have a genuine appetite to learn how.
- Proactive. You spot the problem, work out what to do about it, and go and do it. We don't need someone who arrives with all the answers — we need someone who goes and finds them.
- Comfortable with real deadlines. Planning season doesn't move and it's intense. The rest of the year is calmer and more about building for the next cycle.
- Experience in tech at scale is a plus - somewhere you've seen what good looks like and can bring that standard with you.
- Collaborative across regions and disciplines, with the energy and drive to work well with Sales, Product, Revenue Intelligence, and Marketing Operations.
What we offer:
- Diverse and internationally distributed team: joining our team means becoming part of a large, global community with people of more than 90 nationalities. We're more than just colleagues; we're a group of professionals with a shared mission to connect diverse cultures. Our global presence is growing–we've doubled in size nearly every year, with our employees based in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the US, and Japan, and we continue to expand our network.
- Open communication, regular feedback: as a language-focused company, we value the importance of clear, honest communication. We value smooth collaboration, direct and actionable feedback, and believe that leading with empathy and growth mindset makes us better together.
- Hybrid work, flexible hours: we offer a hybrid work schedule, with team members coming into the office as needed.
