We’re seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead our revenue accounting team and own our revenue recognition strategy, processes, and systems. Reporting to the Finance Director of Order to Cash, you will manage a team of two Revenue Accountants while ensuring compliance with IFRS 15 accounting standards and optimizing revenue processes across the organization.
Your Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & People Management: Lead, manage, and develop a team of two Revenue Accountants, setting clear goals and priorities and reviewing their work for quality and accuracy. Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and career development conversations, providing coaching and actionable feedback.
- Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with IFRS 15. Review and analyze contracts and add-ons to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual closing adjustments and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Data Analytics & Automation: Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract data from various infrastructure for monthly revenue closing and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline efficiency and enhance revenue recognition processes within complex contracts.
- Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Deal Desk, Legal, Sales Operations, and Product to ensure alignment on revenue-related matters.
- System Implementation: Participate in the implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition systems and tools.
- Policy Development: Develop and update revenue recognition policies, procedures, flowcharts, and controls documentation.
Qualities We Look For:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in revenue management or accounting.
- Strong experience with IFRS 15 is essential.
- Experience at major international accounting firms is strongly preferred.
- Audit experience, particularly within SaaS environments, is highly valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
