Your responsibilities

Review, negotiate and provide strategic leadership and direction on high-impact commercial legal matters, including SaaS agreements, MSAs, DPAs with B2B customers.

Manage a dedicated sub-team within the Go-to-Market (GtM) Legal organization, ensuring effective collaboration, consistent high quality output, and professional development of team members.

Shape and refine internal processes within the GtM organization to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standardized contract templates for the GtM Legal team, ensuring they reflect current best practices and safeguard DeepL’s interests.

Establish and deliver comprehensive training programs and self-service resources, empowering both the GtM Legal team and wider GtM organization to address routine legal matters effectively and proactively.
Qualities we look for

Fully qualified lawyer or comparable with strong academic credentials and at least 7 years of experience, the bulk of which should be working in internal legal departments (preferably in a technology company).

Demonstrated ability to navigate and address the business challenges of a rapidly scaling organization, ideally having established and refined legal frameworks in high-growth environments.

Extensive experience in reviewing and negotiating B2B contracts in multiple jurisdictions.

Indepth experience with SaaS agreements and related commercial frameworks, with a strong preference for candidates who have also advised on or negotiated deals involving AI products.

Proven leadership experience, including guiding and mentoring high-performing teams.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently partner with senior GtM leaders and influence at all levels of the organization.

Fluency in English, additional language skills are an advantage.

Proactive, strategic thinker who excels in a fast-paced environment, adept at juggling multiple initiatives and leading teams to deliver high-impact results.
