Our goal is to become the global leader in trusted, intelligent AI technology, building products that drive better communication, foster connections, and create a meaningful impact. To achieve this, we need talented people like you to join our journey.
What sets us apart is our blend of cutting‑edge AI technology, meaningful work, and a culture where people truly thrive. We’re a team of innovators, researchers, and creators driven by a shared purpose to unlock human potential by making work simpler, smarter, and more connected. When we share what it’s like to work at DeepL, the reactions are overwhelmingly positive. This might be because of our technology that helps millions of people and businesses communicate and work better every day, or because of the trust, curiosity, and care that shape our culture. What we know for sure is this: being part of DeepL means joining a team dedicated to innovation, growth, and well‑being.
We currently have two teams in the SRE track, and some SRE peers in other parts of the business. The in‑track teams work closely, often collaborating. The first team SRE: Excellence focuses on making it easier to use our systems and provide tools and services to help run and monitor our products. The second team SRE: Accelerate works closely with our product development teams to use these as effectively as possible and embed better practice in teams. Both teams help ensure the services remain performance and reliable with overall business SLA being a metric. As our business and these teams grow and evolve, the teams are likely to become increasingly aligned with distinct products that we offer our customers.
Your responsibilities:
- Identifying, designing and implementing technical solutions to enable team, track and business to achieve its short term goals.
- Project and interrupt - oncall, team support requests - based work across all aspects on Site Reliability Engineering.
- Collaborate with peers within the SRE track and across other engineers in the organisation.
- Help ensure we consistently meet and exceed our Business Service Level Agreements and team SLOs.
- Work closely with teams to bring about better practice and continually improve and evolve our systems to enable our teams to build and run great products.
Qualities we look for:
- Pragmatism - making a trade off between the ideal solution and something that we can implement and then iterate on.
- Tenacity - bringing about change can be hard and needs long term commitment.
- Resilience - there’s a wide range of opinions, we need to bring people on a journey.
- Relentless energy - There’s lots to do and there’s always more we want to achieve. We also know when people need a break and make sure the balance is good and healthy.
Experience:
- You have successfully worked in an SRE or DevOps environment where collaboration with other teams is as important as within your own team.
- You possess a blend of experience in Platform and Cloud Engineering (Virtual and Physical hardware, ideally, blended [I|P|S]aaS) and Site Reliability.
- You understand how to build systems and processes that are reliable and scalable.
- Focus on Customer Experience: You have a product mindset and recognise the customer experience is paramount.
We are an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at DeepL for who you are - we appreciate authenticity here. Our product is for everyone, and so is our workplace.
