About the Role. DeepL is at an inflection point in its growth, and this is an opportunity to directly shape how the world's most accurate AI translation company acquires and converts customers through paid media. As Senior Performance Marketing Manager, you will own the strategy and hands-on execution of DeepL's paid social and paid search programmes globally, driving efficient, measurable customer acquisition across SMB and enterprise segments. This role sits within DeepL's Performance Marketing & Campaigns function and reports to the Director of Performance Marketing & Campaigns. It will work with cross-functional partners across Field, Lifecycle Marketing, SDR, Product Marketing and Marketing Data Science to scale DeepL's paid channels, and partner effectively with stakeholders running ABM programmes.
What You'll Own:
- Paid Social & Paid Search
- Own and scale DeepL's paid social programmes across LinkedIn, Meta, Reddit, X and other emerging channels, tailoring strategy, audiences and creative to each platform's strengths.
- Own and scale DeepL's paid search programmes across Google, Bing and other search engines, managing keyword strategy, bidding, ad copy and landing page alignment to maximise efficiency.
- Define and manage channel-level budget allocation, shifting spend in response to real-time performance signals to hit CAC, pipeline and ARR targets.
- Champion a culture of experimentation: design and run structured A/B tests across creative, audience, bidding strategy and landing experience, translating results into scalable playbooks.
- Stay ahead of platform changes, betas and new ad formats across social and search, evaluating and piloting new channels where they offer efficient acquisition.
- Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute global paid social marketing strategies aligned with business objectives across multiple regions and products.
- Plan, launch, manage and optimise paid marketing campaigns across the full funnel, including demand generation, account-based marketing (ABM), product launches, webinars, events, partner marketing and brand campaigns.
- Manage campaign budgets, forecasting, pacing and spend allocation, ensuring efficient investment and continuous optimisation based on performance.
- Monitor, analyse and report on campaign performance, pipeline contribution, attribution, ROI and other key marketing KPIs, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders (e.g., Product Marketing, Sales, Marketing Operations, Brand, Creative, Regional Marketing) to align priorities, coordinate campaign execution and support business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement through testing, experimentation, process optimisation, adoption of new advertising capabilities, and AI-driven marketing automation.
- ABM Partnership
- Bring a strong understanding of account-based marketing (ABM) principles and mindset to partner effectively with Sales, SDR and the marketing stakeholders who own ABM strategy.
- Contribute paid social and paid search expertise to ABM initiatives, executing tailored channel strategies, audiences and creative for prioritised accounts and account tiers as defined by ABM stakeholders.
- Feed paid media performance data, account engagement, pipeline influence and conversion, back to ABM stakeholders to inform targeting and strategy decisions.
- Measurement & Optimisation
- Partner with Marketing and Revenue Operations to establish rigorous measurement frameworks across conversion rates, pipeline contribution and ARR impact, using these insights to drive continuous optimisation.
- Own reporting and forecasting for paid social and paid search, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into spend, efficiency and pipeline contribution.
- Use AI-enabled tools to improve audience segmentation, creative testing, bid optimisation and workflow automation across paid channels.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Campaign Managers, Product Marketing, Field Marketing and SDRs to align paid social and paid search activity with integrated campaign programmes and GTM priorities.
- Agency/media partner management with clear briefs, KPI accountability, and budget efficiency.
- Serve as the paid social and paid search subject matter expert within the Performance Marketing & Campaigns team, sharing best practice and mentoring junior team members.
- Represent paid channel performance and investment rationale in relevant leadership and planning forums.
What You'll Bring:
- 4-6 years of experience in performance marketing, with hands-on ownership of paid social and paid search programmes, ideally within B2B SaaS.
- Demonstrated success managing paid social campaigns across LinkedIn, Meta, Reddit and X (or a similar mix), with a strong understanding of each platform's targeting, bidding and creative requirements.
- Strong hands-on experience with paid search platforms, including Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Bing), across search, display and remarketing.
- Very good understanding of account-based marketing (ABM) principles and mindset — comfortable partnering with Sales and marketing stakeholders on account targeting, tiering and personalised campaign strategies, without needing to own or build the ABM programme itself.
- Comfort operating in both self-serve and enterprise-assisted sales environments, with an understanding of the B2B buying cycle.
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable defining KPIs, building dashboards, and using data to inform budget allocation and channel strategy.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve campaign efficiency — for example in audience segmentation, creative generation, bid optimisation or reporting automation.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple channels and campaigns simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
- A proactive, test-and-learn mindset, with genuine enthusiasm for getting into the detail of platform mechanics and performance data.
