Role Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Dive Systems Technical Supervisor to oversee the technical operation, maintenance, asset readiness and ongoing integrity of the saturation diving system and other assets at DEEP Campus. This leadership role will supervise Senior Saturation Dive Systems Technicians, Systems Technicians, 3rd parties and trainees whilst providing technical oversight and authority across all diving systems, life‑support equipment, hyperbaric systems associated control infrastructure as well as our other assets including manned submersibles. The successful candidate will bring extensive saturation diving system experience, a fully up‑to‑date IMCA Dive Technician logbook, and an in-depth understanding of the operational, technical, and safety requirements of complex systems. Working alongside engineering, marine, facilities, training, and operations teams the DSTS will play a key part in ensuring DEEP’s systems remain safe, compliant, and operationally ready.
Key Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:
- Leadership & Supervision
- Provide day‑to‑day supervision and technical guidance to the Senior Saturation Dive Systems Technician and any supporting technicians.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all maintenance, inspections, surveys and technical activities related to the saturation diving system.
- Ensure clear communication of priorities, task allocation, and work standards within the dive systems technical team.
- Conduct daily briefings with technical and operations teams.
- Serve as the technical authority for: Hyperbaric chamber systems, Life‑support controls and monitoring systems, Gas reclaim, storage, and distribution systems, Environmental control systems (ECS), High‑pressure gas systems, hydraulics, and control panels.
- Lead complex fault‑finding, troubleshooting, and technical resolution activities.
- Approve work scopes, maintenance activities, and system adjustments affecting life‑support integrity.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant IMCA, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete system documentation, maintenance logs, and certification records.
- Review and validate updates to the IMCA logbooks of supervised personnel.
- Lead technical audits, inspections, and readiness checks.
- Develop, review, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, and maintenance plans.
- Maintain Maintenance Managements Systems (TM Master v2).
- Ensure asset compliance with classification societies.
- Ensure the saturation diving system and all assets under management are maintained at the highest level of operational readiness.
- Support system upgrades, modifications, and capability development initiatives at DEEP Campus.
- Coordinate mobilisation/demobilisation of saturation system elements as needed.
- Liaise with engineering, training, facilities and operations teams to ensure integrated system performance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive proven experience working on saturation and air diving systems in a senior technician capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of: Hyperbaric systems & pressure control, Gas management, breathing gas quality & life‑support, Reclaim systems and associated hydraulics, Electrical, mechanical, and control systems in a life‑support environment.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex system faults.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
- Excellent awareness of safety, risk, and the criticality of life‑support system integrity.
- Exceptional attention to detail and safety‑critical mindset.
- Calm and methodical approach to technical troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor senior and junior level technicians and support staff.
- Self‑motivated, structured, and able to take ownership of complex systems.
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to take on CPD and work on varying assets, including Manned Submersibles, Inspection Class ROV’s and any other assets used during operations at Campus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Formal engineering/technical qualification to HNC or equivalent level.
- IMCA-recognised training and competency relating to Senior Dive Technician (All Systems – D10).
- Detailed knowledge of one or more of the following: electrical, electronic, mechanical or hydraulic engineering, to be obtained through a trade qualification with a valid training/competency certificate.
- IMCA Dive Technician Logbook demonstrating saturation system competence.
