Who we are: DEEP is an international design and engineering company on a mission to make humans aquatic. We're doing this by advancing ocean exploration through the development of new technologies that will enable humans to live and work in underwater environments for longer periods of time.
Role Description: The Training Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all training events at Campus are delivered in accordance with the published training plan. This will involve working with other teams to coordinate the booking and provision of equipment, facilities, personnel and training resources. The Training Coordinator will ensure that all training customers receive appropriate documentation in a timely fashion as well as undertaking the appropriate administration to ensure those clients meet the entry standards for training. The key outcome is a seamless and positive training experience for clients, customers, and trainees from the point of enquiry through to post course follow up.
Key Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:
- Operational Leadership & Delivery
- Manage the operational schedule for all training programmes delivered at DEEP Campus
- Coordinate course logistics, including facilities readiness, equipment coordination, instructor allocation, and contingency planning
- Contribute to the development, implementation and upkeep of robust processes for course delivery, operational checks, and escalation paths
- Student Journey & Experience
- Ensure a well-designed, high-quality student experience, including pre-course communications, on-site engagement, and post-training follow-up
- Respond to student enquiries, bookings, access arrangements, and orientation
- Monitor satisfaction data and drive continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with the Director of Training
- Instructor Coordination & Workforce Planning
- Manage instructor schedules, availability, and backups for all programmed courses
- Liaise with internal and external instructors to ensure training content can be delivered to standard
- Maintain oversight of qualifications, competency requirements, and teaching compliance in collaboration with the Director of Training
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Head of Assets and Technical, Facilities teams, and safety specialists to ensure training environments remain compliant, operational, and fit for purpose
- Partner with course developers, subject matter experts, and administration teams to ensure readiness for upcoming cohorts
- Provide regular updates to leadership on programme delivery, risks, and operational performance
- Systems, Administration & Reporting
- Manage calendars, rosters, booking systems, and student records
- Contribute to operational planning, budget inputs, and resource forecasts
- Support accreditation, audit, and compliance activities across the training function
- Maintain training records in accordance with regulations and requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong operational management background, preferably within training, education, (hospitality, or safety-critical organisations)
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex schedules and resources
- Excellent communication and comfortable across all levels of a business with stakeholder management capabilities
- High level of organisation, reliability, and process ownership
- Comfortable making decisions in dynamic environments and prioritising effectively
- Able to work within a team but also undertake tasks independently
- Able to take the initiative when dealing with dynamic events
- High degree of safety awareness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice to have:
- Experience with vocational or technical training programmes
- Understanding of subsea, marine, engineering, or diving industries
- Experience building or managing customer (learner) journey frameworks
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Business Administration or a related field (desirable, not essential)
