Role Description: Deep is seeking an innovative, experienced, forward thinking, and creative Diving Supervisor (Closed Bell) to join the DEEP Institute, Diving Operations Team. The Diving Supervisor (Closed Bell) will be a key role in the planning and execution of diving operations and will supervise a wide array of surface and underwater tasks in a unique shore-based location.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct shift briefings and toolbox talks.
- Act as Area Authority for the DEEP Closed Bell Diving System.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Dive Plans.
- Maintain compliance with local diving regulations, the DEEP Diving Management System (DMS), and applicable industry standards, guidance, and best practice.
- Safeguard the health and safety of the diving team.
- Verify that diving plant and equipment are fit for purpose and fully tested prior to operations.
- Confirm dive team members are fully familiar with the Dive System and operating procedures.
- Manage diving consumables and spare parts effectively.
- Oversee the accurate completion of Dive Reports and Dive Logs.
- Conduct and record regular diving drills and emergency exercises.
- Retain ‘Black Box’ recordings in accordance with DEEP policies.
- Confirm divers are appropriately qualified, experienced, and medically fit for the tasks undertaken.
- Ensure the Management of Change process is properly applied.
- Monitor dive team performance and coordinate effective training where required.
- Provide effective support to the DEEP Training Team.
- Support the Diving Management Team in reviewing and updating the DMS.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), contributing to the continuous improvement of training and operational standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Evidenced experience of closed bell diving supervision.
- Experience in delivering briefings and toolbox talks.
- Experience of hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
- Excellent communication skills with personnel at all levels.
- Believes in making a transformational difference through high quality training.
- Eager to develop the next generation of saturation diving professionals.
- Highly motivated for the organisation, team, and shared objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

- IMCA Closed Bell Diving Supervisor.
