As part of our Operations team, the Production Engineer will play a key role in driving efficiency and continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes. You will identify opportunities to reduce waste and eliminate inefficiencies, applying Lean tools and techniques to develop streamlined systems that effectively integrate people, materials, machines, information, and energy. In this role, you will also support CAPEX projects and wider site initiatives, contributing to the ongoing development of our operations.
The Production Engineer is responsible for designing, optimising, and overseeing production processes to ensure they are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and performance, you will be instrumental in enhancing our production capabilities and delivering operational excellence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:- Designing and implementing production processes to optimize work flow and reduce waste whilst improving safety and reliability in conjunction with others
- Analysing Production Data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measures
- Applying new technologies and methodologies in manufacturing practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Investigating and troubleshooting any problems that arise with process, machinery and equipment
- Maintaining and calibrating technical equipment to ensure optimum performance
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations
- Developing budgets, cost analysis and project schedules to align with Operational goals
- Collaborating with cross functional teams such as Quality, Maintenance and Engineering departments
- Coordinating with other Engineers and suppliers to solve Quality problems
- Develop specifications, SOPs with colleagues
- Ensuring all production equipment complies with safety standards and regulations
- Training and supervising team members in the use of new production processes and equipment, safety procedures and process improvements

- Internal: Production, Health and Safety responsible (Birds Triangle, Green Cross, Near Misses, COSHH Register, RAMS), Quality (PPAP, ICAR, Scrap Reports, Rework Report), R&D (NPI, Controlled Batches), & Maintenance (MTBF, MTTR, TPM)
