The Quality Control Inspector (QCI) will ensure that all WAAM‑produced components meet stringent customer and regulatory requirements, including compliance with DNV, ASME, and API standards. Working closely with production, engineering, and SHEQ teams, the QCI will implement inspection protocols, maintain traceability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Testing: Perform dimensional and visual inspections on WAAM components using precision measurement tools and NDT techniques including MPI and DPI. Verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable rules (DNV, ASME, API).
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and traceability documentation. Prepare quality documentation for customer audits and certification requirements.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to DNV, ASME, API, ISO 9001, and AS9100 standards. Support internal and external audits and certification processes.
- Process Control: Monitor WAAM process parameters and validate quality outputs. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non‑conformances.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation and quality enhancement. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential: Proven experience in quality inspection of welded joints within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Familiarity with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM). Knowledge of DNV, ASME and API Codes and Rules for welded and fabricated components. Understanding of welding and/or additive manufacturing processes.
- Desirable: Experience with WAAM or other metal additive manufacturing technologies. NDT certification in accordance with ISO 9712 (PT, MT, UT). Background in aerospace, defence, marine, or oil & gas sectors.
