This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our products, driving design excellence, and delivering delightful customer experiences. You will lead design initiatives across vertical and horizontal projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful user experience.Lead Design Initiatives: Define and deliver product design across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business partners, to build coherent, high-quality experiences that are both functional and delightful.Advocate for Design Systems: Champion the Deel UI/Design System strategy, driving adoption through an iterative approach that balances consistency with innovation.Design and Prototype at Speed: Rapidly design, prototype, and test new features based on a deep understanding of business, customers and technology, to deliver thoughtful solutions even in the face of ambiguity.Mentor and Guide: Provide mentorship to Product Designers, offering constructive feedback to foster growth and skill development. Lead design practice rituals and develop new standards that enhance team efficiency.Bring people together through inspiring design and narrative. Foster alignment across teams by effectively communicating a design vision and facilitating collaboration.Requirements:Passion for Design: A deep passion for Product Design and UX Design craft; committed to creating meaningful, impactful user experiences.A minimum of 5-7 years as a Product Designer in a fast-paced environment, with at least 2 years leading holistic design as a Staff Product Designer (or equivalent title).Strong skills in UI, UX, and visual design, with a proven track record of crafting functional yet delightful customer experiences. AI: Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies; experience designing AI-assisted or AI-powered product experiences or using AI tools as part of your design workflow. A portfolio that includes examples of work related to AI-powered features, AI-assisted workflows, or experiments with AI tools.Data-Informed Design: Your design work is deeply rooted in ideation, experimentation and evidence, ensuring that recommendations are always backed by data.Comfortable with Ambiguity: Able to work at speed while maintaining high-quality and thoughtful solutions; Balances User and Business Needs: Equally focused on user experience and business objectives, ensuring that design solutions meet both criteria effectively.Inspires through design and narrative.Mentorship Experience: Experienced in mentoring Product Designers, providing guidance that enables them to learn, grow, and progress in their careers.Strong knowledge of Payroll and Fintech, with the ability to apply this expertise to deliver impactful design solutions.Embedded Team Experience: Experienced in being deeply embedded within a development team, working with a light touch from the Product Manager to deliver high-quality outcomes.Design & AI at DeelAI is changing how products are designed and built.
