Deel is the all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams. Our vision is to unlock global opportunity for every person, team, and business. Built for the way the world works today, Deel combines HRIS, payroll, compliance, benefits, performance, and equipment management into one seamless platform. With AI-powered tools and a fully owned payroll infrastructure, Deel supports every worker type in 150+ countries—helping businesses scale smarter, faster, and more compliantly.

As the fastest-growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company in history, Deel is transforming how global talent connects with world-class companies – breaking down borders that have traditionally limited both hiring and career opportunities. We're not just building software; we're creating the infrastructure for the future of work, enabling a more diverse and inclusive global economy.

Why this role matters: Millions of contractors watch their earnings lose value the moment they land. With DLUSD, Deel's USD-denominated stablecoin, contractors can hold pay in a dollar-backed balance, earn rewards on it, and soon spend it anywhere with the Deel Card—all without leaving the platform they already use to get paid.

This is one of the largest real-world stablecoin deployments in payroll. You'll shape how it scales from one market to dozens.

What you'll do:

  • Design and build the core services behind DLUSD: minting and redemption flows, wallet orchestration, on-chain settlement, and reconciliation between fiat and stablecoin ledgers.
  • Own integrations with our issuance, wallet, and settlement partners (Bridge, Privy, Tempo) and the Morpho-based Earn rewards infrastructure.
  • Set the technical direction for the stablecoin platform as it expands to new markets, chains, and products like card spend.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and reconciliation systems that keep customer funds safe and balances accurate to the cent.
  • Partner with Product, Compliance, and Legal to ship features that meet regulatory requirements across many jurisdictions.
  • Raise the bar across the Crypto team through design reviews, mentorship, and hands-on pairing.
  • Lead incident response for the systems you own, and design them so incidents stay rare and small.

What you'll bring:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years building production crypto or blockchain systems that move real money.
  • Deep knowledge of EVM-based chains, smart contract integration patterns, and wallet infrastructure (embedded wallets, key management, transaction signing).
  • Experience with stablecoin mechanics: issuance and redemption, reserve models, on-chain/off-chain reconciliation, and peg stability considerations.
  • Strong backend engineering skills (we work in Node.js/TypeScript; adjacent stacks welcome) and experience designing high-throughput, correctness-critical financial systems.
  • A security-first mindset: you think in threat models, idempotency, and double-entry ledgers, and you treat customer funds as sacred.
  • Track record of leading technical initiatives across teams at staff level, and communicating clearly with non-engineering partners like Compliance and Legal.
  • Bonus: experience with DeFi lending protocols (Morpho, Aave), stablecoin issuance platforms, payments L1s/L2s, or building financial products in emerging markets.

Total Rewards:

Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. With scalable benefits, rewards, and perks, our total rewards programs reflect our commitment to inclusivity and access for all.

How to prepare for a job interview at Deel

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Deel uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
