ERP Implementation Contract Manager – 2/3 days a week in Liverpool non-negotiable Summary

While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.
Phase One – An initial three-month (max 15 months) assignment focused on developing and writing the contract specification.
Phase Two – The subsequent implementation phase is expected to last approximately 16 months. This phase will involve contract management. While this may be recruited as a separate role, the Council would consider extending the brief for the right candidate, subject to relevant skills and experience. Key Activities and Phases Phase One:
• Finalise and manage the Council’s ERP supplier contract, including negotiations, drafting, and refining contract documents.
• Ensure full compliance with CCS framework rules.
• Lead end-to-end contracting activities with the chosen supplier, from the announcement of the procurement outcome to contract signature.
• Work closely with Corporate Procurement Unit (CPU) and other departments to ensure alignment with organisational standards and policies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate core agreements, schedules, SOWs, SLA/OLA, pricing annexes, and change control clauses.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks and issues.
• Establish contract governance, change control processes, invoicing procedures, and performance reporting cadence.
• Mobilise contracts with suppliers and key stakeholders.
Experience:
• Essential: Extensive experience in IT and/or ERP contract management.
• Essential: Proven track record in drafting and negotiating large-scale technology and services contracts.
• Essential: Deep understanding of CCS procurement rules, UK public sector frameworks, and ERP commercial models.
• Essential: Knowledge of change control governance, SLA design, and incentive-based pricing.
• Essential: Significant knowledge of contract law, risk management, public procurement legislation, and commercial best practices.
• Essential: Experience with change management processes, commercial governance, and dispute resolution
