Hummingbird Cancer Support Group is seeking a reflexologist to join our team. While knowledge of oncology and cancer is beneficial, it is not required. As a Complementary Therapist, you will offer therapies to individuals diagnosed with cancer, as well as their friends, families, and carers. Sessions are held at Great Hadham Country Club, every Monday from 10AM to 1 PM. Please arrive by 9:30AM for a 9:45AM briefing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complementary therapies to members.
  • Attend briefings to stay updated on appointments and any changes.
  • Support and interact with members, even when not booked with clients.
  • Follow guidelines within the Codes of Practice for any client issues.

Requirements

  • Professional qualifications in your therapy field; oncology training is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Membership in professional associations (e.g., FHT, CTha) is recommended.
  • Appropriate insurance to practice; group insurance available if needed.
  • Submit professional qualification certificates and identification.

  • Complete our Volunteer Management System (VMS) and Volunteer Induction Program (VIP) within three months of starting.
  • A mentor will support you through the induction process.
  • Complete the initial online course before your first client appointment.
  • Participate in a 6‑monthly review for feedback and further integration.

Ongoing Management and Training

  • Manage your volunteer profile via the VMS.
  • Complete annual terms of use agreements, questionnaires, reviews, and training.
  • Stay updated with ongoing training provided by us or external providers.
