Royston & District Community Transport offers door-to-door transport 7 days a week for people living in Royston and the surrounding villages of North & East Hertfordshire, South Cambridgeshire, and Northwest Essex.
We are a local charity that covers Royston, Melbourn, Meldreth, and all villages surrounding Royston. Our volunteer drivers drive their own cars or our wheelchair accessible vehicles (full training given). We take people who are unable to drive themselves or use public transport due to age, frailty, impaired mobility, or do not have the use of a car, to medical appointments, dentists, G.P. or nurse appointments, day centres, etc.
Mileage is paid at 45p per mile, plus 5p for the passenger, under current HMRC rules. Our drivers do whatever days suit them and let us know their availability ahead of time. All our journeys are pre-booked and drivers can accept or decline any booking requests.
