Furzefield Leisure Centre Junior parkrun in Potters Bar is a fun, free community event run by volunteers for 4-14 year olds, enabling them, along with many parents and supporters and the volunteers to be outside, meet friends old and new, enjoy participating whichever way they want to, and be part of the parkrun community.
Everyone of any age or background can come and participate through volunteering, you don\βt need any experience of parkrun or volunteering, you certainly donβt need to be a runner or a parent or have tried anything like this before. There are different roles to try, such as marshalling or handing out finish tokens, you can apply your skills or learn new ones. All the roles are straightforward and there are always other volunteers on hand to show you the ropes and answer any questions.
Volunteering at junior parkrun provides a real impactful benefit for the children (and their grown ups) coming to parkrun and the wider community, and a great way to start your Sunday morning. It is rewarding and fun too!
