About the Role

As a Community Volunteer, you will play a vital role in representing Stand-by-me and helping us continue to provide essential bereavement support services. Your primary responsibilities will include raising awareness and fundraising to ensure our services remain accessible to those who need them most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote awareness of Stand-by-me.
  • Assist with fundraising events and collaborate with the Community Volunteer Lead to explore new opportunities and ideas.
  • Attend and speak at community groups, businesses, or organisations to encourage fundraising and support.
  • Participate in volunteer team meetings to stay engaged with our mission and ethical values.
  • Complete mandatory training as required to support your role effectively.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and confidential relationship with those we support.
  • Commit to supporting at least three events per year to help grow and develop our services.

About Stand-by-me Bereavement

Stand-by-me Bereavement Support is an award-winning registered charity that was created to support bereaved children, young people and their families in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage. Our volunteers play a vital role in the work we do, whether you are helping to set up an event, working in a group to raise funds, championing the work we do with local businesses, letting bereaved children and their families know where they can get help or working directly with children and young people in our groups, you will make a difference. And together we can help change the lives of bereaved children and young people in North Herts and Stevenage.
