What’s involved?
- We meet on a Tuesday (term time) 5:30-6:30 pm in Hitchin for an hour filled with games, crafts, and adventures – both indoors and outdoors.
- You will help Beavers work towards activity badges that contribute to their Bronze Award, giving them a real sense of achievement.
- We work on a flexible rotation system, so you can choose the commitment that works for you – from weekly attendance to once every three weeks.
- We offer a wide range of activities to suit all abilities and interests.
- After a chat to understand your strengths and any considerations, we’ll match you to activities where you’ll thrive.
- You can help shape our programme by bringing your own childhood passions and interests to life for a new generation!
Why volunteer with 6th Hitchin?
- Spending time with our energetic Beavers is the ultimate mood-booster. You’ll rediscover your sense of play, step away from daily stress, and be part of a supportive team that genuinely cares about each other.
- You’ll develop skills that look brilliant on any CV: leadership, activity planning, safeguarding training, teamwork, and the ability to herd 20 six-year-olds (if you can do that, you can handle anything!).
- Full training provided – no previous experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to join in the fun.
