Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421, established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information, and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com

You will be part of the Active Schools Network, offering children the opportunity and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles from now into adulthood. The role involves working 37 hours per week across multiple schools.

Responsibilities

The fundamental aim of the Active Schools Network is to offer children and young people opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles. Active Schools Managers and Coordinators are responsible for developing infrastructure to recruit, support, and sustain a network of volunteers, coaches, leaders, and teachers who deliver physical activity and sport before, during, and after school, as well as in the wider community.

The Individual

We are seeking a motivated individual with extensive experience working with children in sectors such as education, sport, health, leisure, or recreation. You should be passionate about physical activity—encompassing sport, play, health, and active travel—as a tool for community development.

Proven experience in leading and managing projects within these sectors, along with a solid understanding of budgeting and reporting procedures, is essential. Your ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, work independently, and build strong relationships with colleagues and partners is crucial.

You will contribute to the integration of Active Schools initiatives, helping to unify and strengthen our approach. Adaptability, enthusiasm for change, and the ability to translate ideas into action to achieve outcomes are key attributes.

This role is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join or update the PVG Scheme before employment begins.
