Global Fire and Security Systems, an independent company based in Nottingham since 1999, is looking for a Small Works Project Engineer to work on installation and commissioning of fire and security systems in the Midlands, South and East London.

Job Purpose

Install and commission fire systems and related safety systems independently.

Key Accountabilities

  • Installing, configuring and commissioning Fire, Life Safety and Security systems.
  • Inspecting sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
  • Analyzing technical drawings to ensure project needs are met.
  • Testing and troubleshooting systems to ensure they function properly.
  • Providing training to end‐users on how to use systems.
  • Acting as a technical specialist.
  • Practicing and always complying with safety standards.
  • Recognizing opportunities to improve client compliance through Global systems.

About You

  • Knowledge and experience of Notifier, GENT, Advanced and other fire systems.
  • Experience with Apollo, Hochiki and other protocols.
  • Familiarity with emergency lighting, disabled refuge and disabled alarm systems.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or installation and service experience.
  • Sound knowledge of standards and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Conversant with various fire and life safety systems.
  • Previous knowledge of security systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with multiple communications protocols from different manufacturers.
  • Knowledgeable of fire/life safety systems, associated standards and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of codes of practice and construction safety regulations.
