Thanks to a combined wealth of knowledge and experience between our directors, Global have become industry experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems. Due to continued growth and market development, we are now seeking to appoint a Project Engineer - Installations, to cover the MK postcodes.
Job Purpose
You will install and commission Fire systems and Fire related systems. You will supervise and oversee sites and projects whilst supervising colleagues or sub-contractors. As a site supervisor, you will have knowledge of the codes of practice and construction safety regulations. You will interpret building plans and demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills. You will be meticulous and knowledgeable of fire / life safety and the associated standards / regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Installing, configuring, and commissioning Fire, Life Safety and Security systems.
- Inspecting site(s) regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
- Recommending changes to project operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
- Understanding of interconnectivity between various systems.
- Testing and troubleshooting systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Providing training to end-users on how to use systems.
- Practice and always comply with safety standards.
- Resolve systemic issues providing short, medium, and long-term solutions.
About You
Knowledge and experience of Notifier, GENT, Advanced, Apollo, Hochiki, Disabled Refuge, Disabled Alarm etc. Also, some CCTV/Intruder knowledge would be beneficial but not essential. Previous experience in similar role or significant systems experience and looking to step up to a more senior role. Sound knowledge of standards and regulations. Working knowledge of construction sites, the tools and equipment. The ability to interpret drawings. Leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. You will be conversant with various Fire and Life Safety systems. Previous knowledge of Security systems would be of benefit. You will also have experience of multiple communications protocols from differing manufacturers.
