Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Certificate. Qualification of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Proof of graduation from an approved National League of Nursing LPN program.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following bodies at the time of program completion: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA), or another acceptable accreditation body outlined in the TO.
  • Experience: At least 24 months of experience in Health Care Administration, case management, social work, or family advocacy within the past 48 months.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to diverse patient populations.
  • Complete patient care tasks based on patients’ conditions, using judgment to select appropriate procedures and treatments, and accurately report and record relevant patient information.
  • Observe, identify, and respond to patient care needs, including medication administration, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance from the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
  • Support complex diagnostic tests and procedures, including patient preparation, assisting during examinations, handling specialized instruments, and monitoring patient status before, during, and after procedures.
  • Orient peers and ancillary staff to unit policies, procedures, skills, and standards of practice.
  • Promote a healthy work environment that improves patient care, patient and family education, and staff satisfaction.
  • Perform LPN services supporting the Referral Management Center (RMC) as required by the TO.
