Job Summary: Medical Clerk will provide comprehensive administrative and patient scheduling support in a military healthcare setting by coordinating medical appointments, maintaining accurate patient records and provider schedules, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and access-to-care standards, supporting primary and specialty care operations, and delivering professional customer service while performing a wide range of clerical and office management duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience: At least one year working in a medical office environment (inpatient or outpatient) or at least 2 years of working in an administrative capacity that includes skills of various computer software programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule primary, specialty, and subspecialty medical appointments in MHS GENESIS, including patient eligibility verification, referrals, rescheduling, and cancellations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, provider schedules, appointment templates, and medical documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, TRICARE, and military healthcare regulations.
  • Support Primary Care Managers (PCMs) by managing patient panels, provider templates, appointment access standards, recalls, and clinic readiness priorities to optimize patient care and provider utilization.
  • Perform medical administrative support, including data entry, records management, correspondence, report preparation, and office automation using government computer systems.
  • Provide professional customer service by answering office phone lines, communicating with patients and healthcare staff, coordinating follow-up care, and resolving scheduling and administrative inquiries.

Work Environment & Schedule: Onsite, 0730-1630 CET Monday to Friday.

Physical requirements: This position requires prolonged sitting, frequent computer use, and repetitive hand movements for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment. The role also requires clear verbal communication, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to lift and carry light office materials (up to 10–20 pounds).

Compensation & Benefits: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour.
